How am I supposed to fill up my time on a cruise ship? That’s typically one of the first questions most people first ask when thinking about their first cruise. As a relatively independent traveler, it was also my first question.  So for those new to the cruising experience, this can serve as a guide from the highlights of my cruise last week to Alaska on Norwegian Jewel.

California often brings to mind images of relaxing warm afternoons walking the boardwalk in a swimsuit, eating ice cream, and watching surfers while lying on the beach. However, these images often come to mind of Southern California. There's much more to California's coastline than just San Diego, Laguna Beach, and Malibu. As Bob and Jadeof Vagabond3show you below, you can be just as much a beach bum in Santa Barbara as you can in some of the more well known beaches of Southern California.
